Operational Excellence
Transforming operations
Behind every product that arrives on time, every commitment kept, is an operation designed to make it happen.
Every product Hager delivers begins long before it reaches the customer. Hager operates 23 production sites and multiple distribution centres across Europe and beyond. Every day, teams on the shop floor manufacture, assemble, and test thousands of products – from circuit breakers to complete energy distribution systems. In parallel, Hager is advancing its Industry 4.0 roadmap: connecting machines, digitalising production execution, and equipping operators with real-time data to make better decisions, faster. Across distribution, integrated logistics ensure that the right product reaches the right place at the right time.
Operational excellence ensures that systems, processes, and teams run smoothly so that every customer interaction reflects the quality we stand for. It is this reliability that gives us permission to innovate. Customers trust new ideas from Hager because they trust how we deliver today.
The question operational excellence answers is whether the promises made can be kept – consistently, at scale, every time. In 2025, Hager restructured its operational backbone around three priorities.
Strategic sourcing has moved from reactive supply management to proactive partnership. The company deepened relationships with more than thirty key suppliers, embedded sustainability into sourcing decisions, and built the resilience needed for uncertain markets. The progress made is also reflected in the EcoVadis Platinum rating.
End-to-end reliability targets complexity – the enemy of a kept promise. Hager is streamlining its product portfolio, deploying integrated digital planning, and connecting every part of the value chain through shared, real-time visibility of demand and capacity. For customers, the difference is concrete: faster response times and reliable delivery commitments.
Process excellence is the next frontier. Hager is investing in simplifying how teams work across functions – through structured improvement and smarter tools – so that decisions flow more naturally from one part of the business to the next.
AI in operations
Hager is embedding artificial intelligence into its operational processes. Machine learning improves demand planning by analysing market signals and seasonal patterns. Real-time algorithms help match customer orders with available production capacity. On the shop floor, automated data collection replaces manual entry – making operations faster and more reliable. And across the company, an AI assistant supports teams in their daily work.
